ST.CATHARINES BRANCH NEWS
RWTO/OERO St. Catharines Branch - April Luncheon -2012
The St. Catharines branch held a spring luncheon on April 25 at the Holiday Inn.
Our President, Joanne Atkinson, paid tribute to Linda Foster who recently
received a City of St. Catharines Volunteer Recognition Award at a dinner hosted
by the city. The award was not only for Linda’s dedicated service to RWTO/OERO
St. Catharines, but also for the many hours that she has given to the School
Breakfast Program and Henley Island Helpers. (See Photo Gallery)
Marilyn Emmett was recognized for her service to the St. Catharines Branch and
for the years that she has already worked for our Provincial organization. Our
Branch is pleased to nominate Marilyn for 2nd Vice President of RWTO/OERO
Provincial 2012-2013. (See Photo Gallery)
Our guest speaker was Dr. Wilma Morrisson. She spoke on the history of the
Black community in Niagara and The Underground Railway. (See Photo Gallery)
It was a lovely spring day to renew friendships with our RWTO/OERO friends after
the winter. Great food, great friends, great time!
