OAKVILLE BRANCH NEWS

2012 ANNUAL REPORT

25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Wasn’t that a party! A wonderful celebration of the 25th anniversary of theRWTO Oakville Branch took place on Dec. 15th, 2011.

Everything was most enjoyable - from charter member Marguerite Murphy being present, as well as Eunice Caulfield, Gail Cargo and Margaret Withnell, who also joined in 1987. Roses were presented to these members. Marguerite was our first resident, as well as holding other executive positions. She was Area 5 Director for two terms.

Early members Marguerite, Margaret, Eunice and Gail are honoured.

Irene Murray sang a cappella, a song about our charter member to the tune of “Five Foot Two, Has Anybody Seen My Gal?” Diann Rigg, Maryellen Love, Nancy Wallace & Irene sang an amusing history of our branch. Guests at our party were Annette Rhodes(RWTO president) and Heather Bosman (Area 12 director).

Early Memories Photos and notes were collected by Diann Rigg and Gail Cherrington for an album to commemorate what our early RWTO members accomplished. We are grateful for the efforts of our first historian, Edith Telford, and founding member Joyce Burnell, who passed away this year.

Fun & Games All members participated in an enthusiastic carol sing, followed by a delicious Christmas turkey dinner and birthday cake. After lunch, our programme committee, Pat DeMille, Diane Sinden, Rozanne Petersen, and Bev Thomas arranged party games for us to play. eg. Pin the Nose on Rudolf, Fill Santa’s Chimney with Candy Canes, Musical Chairs. Members really enjoyed these. As a caring RWTO group, members donated gift cards to a local charity, Kerr Street Ministries.

Carol sing before lunch.
